dj music equipmentWhat equipment should I buy if I want to be an electronic music DJ? software?

I love electronic music! I thought about going out to buy some equipment to get started and I have no idea what to look for, I'm a total beginner so just something to start out with. And what is some good quality software I can use? Thanks.
Well there are two ways to go, for electronic/dubstep/dance music, I would go with two CDJ's which are like vinyl turntables except they have loop buttons and effects built in on some. They are much smaller. That is easier than buying 2 turntables and effect boxes... You also need a mixer, I would recommend for what you are doing Behringer or Vestax brand DJ mixers. Some good programs to use are Serato, but for Serato, you would need to buy the whole package that includes, the sofdj music equipmenttware, two CDJ vinyl control slips, which let you use your digital library of music instead of having to buy CD's to spin music, and it comes with all the cords and the hardware to use it correctly. The SL1 box, which is their oldest product and gets the job done is about 500 and a good pair of CDJ's cost about 600 maybe 700. DJ'ing is expensive... If you wanted to use free software, you could go with Virtual DJ, though I don't recommend it. It is fun to mess around with and you probably don't even need to use CDJ's with it, just a computer. Serato is built for hardcore club dj's and isn't that hard to figure out how to use. Their support system is great too, so if you have any questions about their products, just search ardj music equipmentound their website. You also need speakers, powered speakers, which have a built in power amp and are usually more expensive, but worth it, or passive speakers which are generally cheaper and you need to buy a power amp which is pretty expensive. I would go with powered speakers, a good cheap pair is Behringer 212D's. Your cheapest alternative would probably just to buy Virtual DJ and mess around with it on your computer and you don't need to buy all of the hardware. All you need to start messing around on it is a computer... I would still buy speakers if you are thinking about doing parties. Feel free to contact me @ prankedwithaphone@yahoo.com
